ULTRASONIC FLOW

SITRANS F US ultrasonic flowmeters are used with homogenous conductive and non-conductive liquids. In addition to standard volume flow, ultrasonic flowmeters can provide information on media quality and temperature. Meter calibration can be certified to industry standards.

The differences between Siemens Controlotron and other competitive ultrasonic instruments are substantial. One component of the reason for this is the large number of Patents owned and used by Siemens Controlotron.

Siemens Controlotron vs ultrasonic (other clamp-on and insert type) flowmeters:

Other ultrasonic flowmeters use transducers with fixed frequencies, which experience cancellation as they transmit through the pipe wall of a mismatched frequency. Since the pipe wall acts as an obstacle to the beam, insert type flowmeters are popular as the beams are transmitted without passing through the pipe wall. However, insert type sensors require many paths as the beams are small and sample a small percentage of flow volume. Insert type sensors are also inline type, requiring downtime.

General purpose liquid flowmeters. FUS1010 are dedicated wall mount units while FUP1010 are portable units that can be used for field surveys or temporary installations. Both are used for a wide variety of applications, including water & wastewater, HVAC, power and processing.

SITRANS SONO 3300/FUS060
The combination of sensor SONO 3300 sensor and FUS060 transmitter is ideal for applications within the general industry where measurements are independent of liquid temperature, density, pressure and conductivity. SITRANS FUS380
The SITRANS FUS380 is a battery or mains supply powered flowmeter designed for numerous standard applications. The FUS380 can be used in all utility applications that do not require custody transfer approvals. It has a display that indicates various measurement values and diagnostics. The flowmeter measures in both flow directions, has two pulse outputs and is available from DN 50 to 1200 (from 2" to 48").
 
 
 

SITRANS FUE380

The SITRANS FUE380 is the custody transfer approved version of FUS380. The approval (MID, PTB, EN 1434 and OIML R75) is valid for heat metering systems. It is available from DN 50 to 1200 (from 2" to 48").
 
 
 
 
 
 
SITRANS FUE950
SITRANS FUE950 is a universal energy calculator, which meets the requirements of OIML R75, EN 1434 and PTB. It is battery or mains powered and has different outputs including pulse and M-Bus. It is designed for use in hot water, chilled water and cooling/heating applications. If needed, the necessary temperature sensors and pipe mounting parts can be ordered along with the calculator. The calculator can be used with SITRANS FUS/E380 and SITRANS F M MAG.

 
INLINE  RETROFIT
SITRANS F US SONOKIT/FUS060
The mains powered SITRANS F US SONOKIT is suitable for various high performance and pressure pipes ranging from DN 100 to DN 4000 (from 4" to 160"). The kit includes all necessary parts and special tools to make a complete installation of a 1-, 2- or 4-track flowmeter on an empty pipe. Hot tap installation can be performed by means of extra tools. It is available in an EX approved version and has analog output as well as bus communication. Media temperature can be up to 200 ºC (392 ºF).
 
 
 
SITRANS FUS880
The SITRANS FUS880 is a battery-powered flowmeter, which can be used for irrigation and water supply management. It is designed for pipes ranging from DN 200 to DN 1200 (from 8" to 48") and has the option between 1 and 2 tracks. The flowmeter can be installed in low pressure pipelines made of various materials such as plastics and concrete and is approved for underground installation and operation. Media temperature can be up to 60 ºC (140 ºF).

 
THICKNESS GAUGE
SITRANS F US Thickness Gauge

The easy-to-use, stand-alone digital ultrasonic pipe wall thickness gauge is an indispensable tool in accurate clamp-on ultrasonic flow measurement. Since even the smallest miscalculation of the pipe wall thickness can have a major impact on a clamp-on flowmeter's accuracy, the pipe thickness gauge has to be extremely precise. This is why the standard probe operates at a 5 MHz frequency enabling it to measure even the smallest pipe thickness. Although the thickness gauge was originally designed to increase the accuracy of clamp-on flowmeters, it can be used to measure the thickness of any pipe wall.
