The 515 CS12 Condensate and Steam Flow Computer is designed to accurately consider the return of condensate energy when calculating the net energy in a closed 'steam to condensate' system. This is achieved by calculating the volume, mass, and energy content of steam and condensate lines using an analog volume flowmeter in the condensate line, along with temperature and/or pressure inputs.
The energy calculations are based on measurements taken simultaneously from sensors in the steam and condensate lines, and the instrument offers a selection of modes to suit a variety of steam to condensate applications.
Similar to the 515 SC06, this instrument also calculates mass flow and energy based on the IAPWS Industrial Formulation (1997) for the thermodynamic properties of steam, utilizing pressure and temperature values to determine specific volume and specific enthalpy.
