Dew Point Accessories

A wide product range of dew point meter accessories. Designed specifically to ensure that accurate and reliable dew point measurement is possible with CS Instruments proving that both reliability and performance we offer for our product.

When using the dew point sensors, it is always recommended to use a suitable measuring chamber. In this way, the sensor can be very easily inserted and removed from any compressed air line by means of a quick coupling. A compressed air is up to 16bar.The advantages of using the measuring chamber are as follows:

  • Since the sensor does not have to be unscrewed, it can be easily installed and removed under pressure
  • Service and calibration work is possible without interrupting production.
  • The pressure dew point is measured via the measuring chamber in the same way as for inline measurement, since the same pressure prevails in the measuring chamber as in the pipeline.
  • An air flow of approx. 1l/min escapes via the copper capillary of the measuring chamber. This results in a forced flow and no "stagnant" air is measured. In addition, the reaction time is thus shortened.
  • The measuring chamber isolates the sensor from the line. This prevents the sensor from being clogged by dirt in the compressed air, which may well be the case if it is installed directly in the line.

For measuring the dew point in high pressure systems such as diving applications, breathing protection for fire departments etc. the high-pressure measuring chamber up to 350 bar was developed. Process connection G ¼" female thread for connection to the process air. The G ½" thread for connection of the dew point sensor. To ensure that compressed air flows through the dew point sensor installed in the high-pressure measuring chamber, approx. 2 l/min of process air is released into the environment via the built-in nozzle.

For compressed air, It is up to 350 bar.

During transport and storage, the plastic granules absorb moisture. If the plastic is not optimally dried during processing, this has a variety of negative effects on the end product. Bubbles or streaks on the surface or the dimensional accuracy is not given. The measuring chamber for granulate dryers can be easily connected to the granulate dryer via a Teflon line. During drying, the dew point should be in the range of -30...-60 °C. Process connection G ¼" female thread for connection to the process air. G ½" thread for connection of the dew point sensor. The measuring chamber can be used from -1 to 16bar.
  • Applicable for -1...16 bar
  • Process connection: Plug connection for 6 mm hose at inlet and outlet or G 1/4" female thread when using without plug connections
  • Sensor connection: G 1/2" female thread
  • The flow of at least 2 liters / min of air / gas must be ensured by the customer

With the measuring chamber for measuring the atmospheric dew point, the pressure inside the measuring chamber is reduced to atmospheric pressure. Especially in medical applications, the dew point measurement must be carried out in the atmospheric pressure range.

Control and calibration sets guarantee a defined humidity by means of a saturated saline solution.

The control and calibration set is screwed onto the dew point sensor and therefore enables an easy and low-priced possibility for on-site control and calibration down to -20°C dew point.

The sets are available as follows:
  • Control and calibration set 11,3 % RH
  • Control and calibration set 33 % RH
  • Control and calibration set 75,3 % RH

During dew point measurement with the bypass measuring chamber, no process air or process gas is discharged to the environment. The gas to be measured or the process air flows around the sensor inside the measuring chamber. This measuring chamber is used, for example, with toxic or expensive gases.

The measuring chamber can be used from -1 to 350bar. Process connection G ¼" internal thread for connection to the process air. The G ½" thread for connection of the dew point sensor in gases/air up to 350 bar (stainless steel: 1.4305)

For measuring the dew point in high pressure plants with purity requirements, such as PET bottle production, the stainless-steel measuring chamber was developed up to 50 bar. Process connection G ¼" internal thread for connection to the process air. The G ½" thread for connection of the dew point sensor. To ensure that compressed air flows through the dew point sensor installed in the stainless-steel measuring chamber, approx. 2 l/min of process air is released into the environment via the built-in nozzle.
  • Usable from 2…50 bar
  • Process connection: G1/4″ internal thread
  • Sensor connection: G 1/2″ internal thread
  • Emits 2-3 liters/min of process air to the environment
