The DS 400 is a flow meter offered by CS Instruments for measuring flow in compressed air and gases applications. This flow meter is designed specifically for industrial use and offers accurate and reliable measurement of flow rates.
The DS 400 utilizes thermal dispersion technology to measure flow. It consists of a probe that is inserted into the pipe or duct where the flow needs to be measured. The probe contains two temperature sensors, one heated and one unheated. As the fluid flows past the probe, the heated sensor measures the cooling effect caused by the flow, which is proportional to the flow velocity.

The VA 409 is a flow direction switch designed for use in compressed air systems. It is a product offered by CS Instruments and is specifically designed to monitor and control the direction of flow in compressed air pipelines.
The VA 409 flow direction switch is typically installed in the pipeline to detect the direction of flow. It ensures that the compressed air flows in the correct direction and prevents any reverse flow that could potentially cause damage or inefficiency in the system.
By means of VA 409 with flow direction indication the flow direction of the compressed air can be determined quickly and safely. Compared with the former mechanical paddle flow switches VA 409 is able to detect even the smallest changes in the flow direction quickly and without any mechanical movement.
The direction information in form of a potential-free contact (normally closed max. 60 VDC, 0.5 A) is transferred to the consumption sensors VA 500/ VA 520 or to a separate building management system (mbs). Two LEDs show the flow direction.
In connection with 2 consumption sensors VA 500/ VA 520 incoming and outflowing compressed air in closed circular pipelines can be measured precisely.

From recording of the measured data, indication on a big colour screen, alerting, storage up to remote read-out via webserver... this is all possible with DS 500. By means of the CS Soft Basic software alarms can be sent via SMS or e-mail. All measured values, measured curves and threshold exceedings are indicated. The curve progressions from the beginning of the measurement can be viewed by an easy slide of the finger. Daily/weekly/monthly reports with costs in € and counter reading in m³ for each consumption sensor are completing the sophisticated system concept. The big difference to odinary paperless chart recorders reveals in the easy initiation and in the evaluation of the measured data. All sensors are identified directly and powered by DS 500. Everything is matched and tuned.
