HICONE DP Cone

A DP Cone, or Differential Pressure Cone, is a type of flow measurement device used to determine the flow rate of fluids in a pipeline. It features a cone-shaped element that is installed in the center of the pipe, creating a specific flow path for the fluid. As the fluid flows around the cone, a differential pressure is generated between the upstream and downstream sides. This pressure difference is directly related to the flow rate, allowing for accurate measurements.
One of the advantages of using a DP Cone is that it typically results in lower permanent pressure loss compared to other flow meters, like orifice plates. This efficiency makes it a popular choice in various industrial applications where precise flow measurement is essential.

The IVCM Series is an innovative product designed to minimize leakage at the connection points during operation by incorporating the manifold valve, a crucial component of a differential pressure flow meter, as an integral part of the meter body, which also helps reduce construction costs and installation time.

Operation Principle
The IVCM Series installs a cone in the center of the fluid-flowing pipe, narrowing the area through which the fluid passes, and a pressure difference occurs between the front and back ends due to the cone.

A certain relationship (Bernoulli's principle) is established between this pressure difference (differential pressure) and the flow rate. Using this principle, the flow rate is proportional to the square root of the differential pressure, so the flow rate can be obtained by measuring the differential pressure.

The HFV features a V-shaped cone installed in the center of the pipe, allowing fluid to flow into the space between the cone and the inner surface of the pipe; the flow rate is calculated by measuring the resulting differential pressure. Since the HFV experiences lower differential pressure compared to an orifice under the same conditions (piping, diameter ratio, flow rate), it results in reduced permanent pressure loss, making it a more efficient option than other differential pressure flow meters.

Operation Principle
For HFV Series when a tightening device is installed in the middle of a pipe through which fluid flows to narrow the area through which the fluid passes, a pressure difference occurs before and after the device due to the resistance generated by the tightening device.
Using Bernoulli's principle, a relationship between differential pressure and flow rate can be derived, and this can be used to measure the flow rate.

The HFV-WM Series can change the flow range by replacing the cone without replacing the meter body, and is designed to be easily replaced in case of deformation of the cone due to excessive flow or impact of slug bundle.
It is easy to install in the form of a wafer, and all components are precision machined to ensure excellent measurement accuracy, and the soundness of the pressure part is secured as there are no welded parts.
