Protex Flow Rate/Totalizer

Precision Digital manufactures a wide variety of explosion-proof indicators and controllers which can be powered via either loop or line power and carry all the major approvals, such as CSA, ATEX and IECEx. In addition, a select group of explosion proof products are now UL Listed as Explosion-Proof / Dust Ignition-Proof / Flame-Proof. These instruments will accept a wide range of inputs, such as 4-20 mA, strain gauge, pulse, thermocouple, RTD and Modbus and can be equipped with relays, 4-20 mA outputs and serial re-transmission. They all feature displays that can be easily read in various lighting conditions, from wide angles, and from considerable distances.

PD6938-EX ProtEX+ Pulse Input Explosion-Proof Flow Rate/Totalizer

The PD6938 ProtEX+ pulse input flow rate/totalizers can be installed in a variety of areas (hazardous, dirty, wet, corrosive, hot, or cold) to provide convenient and informative display of flow rate and total from any pulse output flowmeter. These instruments will accept a variety of pulse inputs, including slow pulse rates. They can be powered from a battery, 9-30 VDC, or the 4-20 mA output loop, have on-board datalogging capabilities, come with explosion-proof approvals, and can be ordered with optional 4-20 mA output and two relays.
 
The ProtEX+ carries all major approvals including:
  • UL Listed as Explosion-Proof / Dust Ignition-Proof / Flame-Proof
  • CSA Certified as Explosion-Proof / Dust Ignition-Proof / Flame-Proof
  • ATEX and IECEx Certified as Explosion-Proof
The PD6938 can operate down to -40°C and is certified by the agencies to be installed in areas that get as cold as -55°C.
 
The PD6938 ProtEX+ is available in aluminum and stainless steel enclosures that are designed for easy use and installation. The process connection is available in M20, 3/4" NPT and 1" NPT and there are two other conduit holes for field wiring.
 
Free, PC-based, MeterView XL software that connects to the meter via a micro-USB cable is available for programming and setup of the instruments. Four CapTouch through-window buttons are available to operate the instrument without removing the cover.
 
All models come equipped with two open collector outputs and a digital input. There are also models available with Modbus RTU RS-485 communications, two solid-state relays, and isolated 4-20 mA analog output options.

They can be powered from a battery, 9-30 VDC, or the 4-20 mA output loop, have on-board datalogging capabilities, come with approvals for intrinsic safety, and can be ordered with optional 4-20 mA output and two relays.
 
The PD6938-IS is ATEX and IECEx Certified as Intrinsically Safe.
 
It can operate down to -40°C and is certified by the agencies to be installed in areas that get as cold as -55°C. The display will cease functioning below -40°C but no damage will be done to the instrument.

PD6830 ProtEX-RTP Explosion-Proof Pulse Input Flow Rate/Totalizer

The ProtEX-RTP PD6830 is a rugged, explosion-proof, pulse input rate/totalizer for demanding applications in hazardous areas. It can be powered from 9-30 VDC, battery, or from the 4-20 mA output loop; includes two isolated open collector pulse outputs and is available with an isolated RS-485 option for Mod-bus communications. The instrument will operate over a temperature range of -40 to 75°C (-40 to 167°F).
 
The PD6830 carries major approvals including:
  • FM Approved as Explosion-Proof / Dust Ignition-Proof / Flame-Proof
  • CSA Certified as Explosion-Proof / Dust Ignition-Proof / Flame-Proof
  • ATEX and IECEx Certified as Flame-Proof and Protection by Enclosure
The top numeric display will read rate or total up to five digits and the alphanumeric bottom display will read up to 7 digits, 13 digits with the total overflow feature. The alphanumeric display can also be pro-grammed to show any combination of numbers and letters up to seven characters long for rate, total, grand total, engineering units and/or identification tag. The backlight makes the display more visible in any lighting condition. The enclosure is provided with threaded conduit holes and integrated pipe or wall mounting flanges.
 
Free, PC-based, MeterView EX software that connects to the meter via the PDA8068, PDA7485-I, or the PDA8485-I is available for programming and setup of the instrument.

The ProtEX-MAX PD8-6300 offers all the functionality of the ProVu PD6300 as a CSA, ATEX, and IECEx certified explosion-proof product. It is available in an aluminum or stainless steel enclosure and will operate over a wide temperature range of -55 to 65°C (-67 to 149°F). It is specifically designed to display flow rate and total from a pulse output (NPN, PNP, TTL, switch contact, sine wave, etc.) flowmeter. It displays that signal on a dual-line, 6-digit Sunbright sunlight readable display. Flow rate is typically displayed on the upper line and the cumulative total is displayed on the lower line. PD8-6100 ProtEX-MAX Explosion-Proof Strain Gauge, Load Cell & mV Meter

The ProtEX-MAX PD8-6100 offers all the functionality of the ProVu PD6100 as a CSA, ATEX, and IECEx certified explosion-proof product. It is available in an aluminum or stainless steel enclosure and will operate over a wide temperature range of -55 to 65°C (-67 to 149°F). It accepts strain gauge & load cell inputs and mV signals up to 300 mV (unipolar) and ± 250 mV (bipolar) for weight and force measurement applications. With a max output current of 350 mA at 10 V, it can support up to twelve (12) 350 Ω load cells (minimum load resistance of 28 Ω), making them ideal for multipoint weight measurement applications. The PD8-6100 strain gauge meter’s dual-line display and powerful dual-scale capability allows the measurement to be displayed in two different units of measure. Another use for the PD6100’s dual-lines is to simply display the units of measure on the bottom line. CapTouch through-glass buttons allow for access to zero, tare, and other functions without the need to remove the enclosure cover.
