SIEMENS SIWAREX Platform and Hopper Scales

Weighing silos, vessels, or platforms is a standard task in the industry, and SIWAREX electronics are tailored to meet these requirements with their comprehensive properties and functions.

Platform Scales
These are utilized across various industrial branches, each with distinct requirements, particularly concerning load classes. While these scales are suitable for weighing small loads, road vehicle and track scales are specifically designed for handling heavy loads. This differentiation ensures that the weighing needs of different industries are effectively met.

Hopper Scales
These play a crucial role in nearly every industry where liquids, powders, bulk goods, or gases are produced and stored in funnels or vessels. Accurately measuring the fill levels of these vessels is essential to ensure the availability of these materials. Hopper scales provide the means to achieve precise measurements, contributing to efficient and reliable operations across various industrial processes.

The corresponding SIWAREX electronics provide extensive features and functions to fulfill all requirements.

The TM SIWAREX WP521 ST and WP522 ST (ST = Standard) are highly versatile weighing modules designed for the SIMATIC S7-1500 Advanced Controller family. These electronic weighing systems facilitate the seamless integration of simple weighing applications, including platform or hopper scales, into the S7-1500 automation environment. This integration capability enhances the overall efficiency and automation of weighing processes within industrial settings.

More details

The SIWAREX WP231 is a versatile weighing module that is legal for trade and suitable for a wide range of simple weighing and force measuring tasks. This compact module is designed for easy installation within the SIMATIC S7-1200 automation system. Additionally, it is capable of standalone operation without a SIMATIC CPU, providing flexibility in its application.

More details

The SIWAREX WP321 is a versatile and flexible weigh beam designed for the seamless integration of a static scale into the SIMATIC automation environment. This weighing solution incorporates its weighing electronics within the SIMATIC ET 200SP system series, leveraging the advanced features of a modern automation system. These features include integrated communication, operator control and monitoring, diagnostics units, and project planning tools in the TIA portal, SIMATIC Step 7, WinCC flexible, and PCS 7.
When used in conjunction with the digital SIWAREX DB junction box, the WP321 can diagnose up to four connected load cells separately. This capability allows the module to detect individual load cell failures and provide relevant load cell data, such as order number and location designation, directly to the CPU or HMI in the event of an error. This enhances operational reliability, reduces downtimes, simplifies commissioning, and streamlines servicing processes.

SIWAREX DB offers advanced diagnostic and monitoring capabilities when used alongside SIWAREX WP weighing electronics. The individual channel monitoring helps identify specific error states like wire breaks and overloads. Additionally, connecting SIWAREX DB to a SIWAREX WP electronic weighing system ensures smooth integration into the SIMATIC world.

More details

Ex interface SIWAREX IS is designed for use with SIWAREX weighing modules, incorporating six safety barriers and obtaining relevant technical approvals. Importantly, it must be installed outside the potentially explosive area, typically inside the control cabinet, ideally under the electronic weighing system, and fixed using a 35 mm mounting rail. The SIWAREX IS minimally interferes with the load cell signal, making it suitable for scales requiring official calibration. Connection is facilitated at the front using two clamp-type plugs, with a separate screw terminal provided for the equipotential bonding conductor (EBC).
